Privacy Policy

EvenShare helps people track shared expenses, settle balances, and manage payment preferences with friends and groups. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

• Account identifiers: name, username, email address, phone number, and a unique user ID assigned by our authentication system.
• Profile information: profile photos and payment method handles, such as Venmo usernames, Cash App tags, Zelle-linked phone numbers or emails, and PayPal handles, that you voluntarily add to your profile.
• Contacts: phone numbers from your device contact list, accessed only when you grant permission and only to match against existing EvenShare users. Contact data is not stored on our servers.
• Transaction and activity data: expense records, payment notes, group memberships, and balance histories that you create inside the app.
• Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, and usage patterns collected to operate and improve the service. This may include data collected by Firebase, a service provided by Google.

How We Use Information

• To create, maintain, and secure your account.
• To display balances, expense history, payment method preferences, and group activity.
• To connect you with friends and groups you choose to interact with.
• To provide customer support, diagnose bugs, improve reliability, and prevent abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

How Contacts and Photos Work

• Contacts are accessed only when you explicitly use the Find from Contacts feature. Phone numbers are sent to our servers solely to match against registered users. We do not store your full contact list.
• Photo library access is requested only when you choose to update your profile picture. Photos are stored on our servers only if you upload them.

Third-Party Services

EvenShare uses the following third-party services that may receive your data as needed to operate the app:

• Firebase Authentication (Google): handles account creation, login, and email verification.
• Cloud Firestore (Google): stores user profiles, transactions, and group data.
• Firebase Analytics (Google): collects anonymized usage data to help us improve the app.

Data Sharing

• We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
• Your name, username, and profile photo are visible to other users you interact with inside shared expenses and groups.
• Payment method handles you add to your profile are visible to friends in the app.
• We may share data with service providers listed above who help operate the service, under confidentiality agreements.
• We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of EvenShare and its users.

Financial Information

Payment method handles you store in the app, including Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, and similar services, are considered financial contact information. We store these handles solely to display them to friends you connect with so they know how to pay you. EvenShare does not process, initiate, or settle any payments. All actual money movement happens outside the app on those third-party platforms.

Your Choices and Rights

• You can update your profile details, payment methods, and profile photo from the Account area at any time.
• You can delete your account from inside the app. Account deletion removes your profile and disassociates your data.
• You can contact info@namastack.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data.
• If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under applicable data protection law including the right to access, correct, port, and erase your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
• If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion.

Data Retention

We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, security, and operational obligations. When you delete your account, we remove your personal identifiers from active systems.

Children

EvenShare is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us their information, contact info@namastack.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the last updated date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending a notification through the app or by email. Continued use of EvenShare after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
